Dragonfly is for sale

Dragonfly at her new home

Hello faithful readers.  No, this is not a doom and gloom situation.  When I bought this fine vessel last year, the plan was - from the get-go - to keep her for about a year.  No, we didn't get to sail far as we planned; but nonetheless, we had lots of fun, exciting adventures aboard her.

And now that we live just a stone's throw from Lake Livingston, it's time to trade in this 34 foot live-aboard ocean cruiser for a vessel much better suited for day-sails out on the lake.

Preparing Dragonfly to be sold was tough, as we had to get all our STUFF off.  And lemme tell you - we had an awful lot of STUFF on that boat, crammed into every nook and cranny imaginable.  And a good chunk of it was CLOTHES!  Looking back, I spent the good part of a year planning, gathering, purchasing, packing, hauling, and storing it aboard.  Most of that was done from our air-conditioned home and/or apartment, or during the cool autumn months.  But Joan and I only had, at best, a few days to undo all of that, and we had to do it in the scorching summer heat.  Arrgghh!

(Note to anyone contemplating owning and cruising on a boat:  you need a lot less CLOTHES than you think!)

Me at Dragonfly's helm, for the last time

But we managed to get it done, and then we took our very last trip:  moving her from Marina Del Sol to the next-door marina at Waterford Harbor.  There, I handed her over to Little Yacht Sales.  Contact them if you're interested in buying Dragonfly!

So this will be my last post to this blog.  From here, I'll probably blog about some other topic.  Then you can tune in and follow me there!
